This Issue’s Cover -63
Fledge
Sometimes it’s the little things. I found Tim Sayeau’s You’ve Got To Be Kidding! so charming I knew I wanted to base the cover on it, but agonized over what to focus on. After many long searches for images of Nutschel came up empty-handed I had to scratch my original concepts. Still, there had to be something! Then I recalled how much I enjoyed the bit about someone painting Fledge, the first flying horse of Narnia, on the Gustav plane that carried the series to the new Narnians. And so, I have attempted an homage to that. I’m sure it’s not the most realistic depiction of an airplane nose, and nose art is traditionally a bit cartoonish, so I do hope you will forgive me for a bit of whimsy.

You got a smile from me. Danke.
Thanks again, Lorraine! I didn’t feel as confident about this piece as I might have liked, so it’s good to hear someone thought it was fun.
Thanks for the large cover pics. I like to use the covers of books I’ve read (current year) for my screen saver on the computer in my home office.
Little late to add, but wow! Two stories printed, and the cover?!?!? Cue music= “Believe it or not, I’m walking on air/I never thought I could feel so free/Flying away on a wing and a prayer/Believe it or not/I’m walking on air!”
