Dora slept lightly in spite of the long and tiring day. She stirred in bed. Her instincts were always attuned to her children and their sounds. As usual her husband, Danel, was deep in sleep. She listened over her husband's snoring and heard Deborah whispering, "I miss you too."

Dora threw the thick blankets off of her and got out of bed. Danel stopped snoring long enough to roll to his other side. All these years and he still can sleep soundly. How is this? She followed the sound of her daughter whispering and found Deborah standing . . .
